Umm…deaf people can use the telephone. I know people who are deaf and we talk all the time. They have computer systems that show what you’re saying as text. Some people even connect you through to an operator who types what you say. It’s not unusual at all. I actually really like that the show isn’t focusing on her being deaf and is showing that, even with a hearing disability, they’re just like everyone else.
