why didn’t clark save the other meteor freaks that were being killed?

Ok-THIS, by far, as the BEST episode that I’ve seen thus far!!! 

I’m rooting for Lana, because she’s getting closer to uncovering Clark’s secret, and seeing Lex for who he really is. Yes, they both are liars(we’ll say that Clark is… dishonest), but Lex’s LIES are wick, treacherous and destructive, and he must be stopped!!
